Out of the Box: Eaglemoss Hellblazer/John Constantine

We got a break from the rain today, so I took advantage of the dry-but-overcast weather to take some photos of the newest member of my Hellblazer collection, an Eaglemoss figurine.

Eaglemoss puts out 1:21 scale die-cast lead figurines from a variety of genre/media franchises (I've posted about my Eaglemoss Captain Britain figure here before), and allows buyers to purchase subscriptions to their lines.  Each figure also comes with a biographical magazine featuring the character of the month. On their own, the figures usually retail for between $15 and $25 USD.

Personally, my interests are too narrow for a subscription, so I've always waited for the reviews to come in and then picked up the ones I wanted on the secondary market. Since I've never wanted to pay a premium for any of them, that often means waiting forever until a deal comes along - but this time I lucked out and found this one at a reasonable price on eBay the first time I looked!

You can get a sense of how small these figurines are here.

Overall, I'm fairly pleased with this one. Like all the figurines in this line, the detailing is good for the size and he has a nice heft to him.  I probably wouldn't have wanted to pay retail for him, but since I didn't have to I can't complain!

A parting glance.

  1. You have such an interesting collection I more often than not learn about figures and dolls I had never even heard of!

    1. Thanks! The variety among your dolls is one of my favourite things about your photos as well! :)

  2. He looks pretty good. I like that splash of red on his shirt, nice detailing there.

I've actually just started watching this show. Not sure what I think of it yet though.

    1. I'll be curious to hear what you think of it! :) I was a little lukewarm on the series, but I think that's because I was expecting something more like the tone of the comics, so I wonder how it feels to someone coming into it without that set of expectations.

    2. I'm up to Episode 5 now of Constantine and I have to admit, it's not too bad of a show. I'm enjoying it but I've never read the comics so I didn't have the same expectations as you might have coming from that comic background.

It only had one season didn't it?

    3. Yup, just one season. Although the character has turned up on Arrow, so they seem to be keeping him in that shared DC TV series universe.

  3. Another figure that I've never come across! He looks quite detailed for his tiny size, and won't take up a lot of room, that's for sure!

    1. Eaglemoss has their issues as a company (I've heard about customer service issues from subscribers), but they really do nice work on the figurines themselves - I really don't know of any other ones at this scale that are done as nicely.
