Random Toy of the Day: Doctor Bashir (Playmates "Warp Factor" Series 2)

Since picking up the Playmates' Captain Sisko over the summer, I've added another figure from the DS9 line to my collection: Julian Bashir (always one of my favourite characters on the show).

This figure is from the second release group ("Warp Factor Series 2" versus Series 1), but has the identical body to the figures of the earlier line.  Playmates did change the style of the stands for this release though, and they now have a wider base.
Since the figure itself has the same features as the Sisko one  I won't be reviewing him, but I did want to share a few photos.

It's all photos from here:

  1. I don't know any of these characters, so it is great to read about them on here. Quite a handsome fellow!

  2. He has a friendly face, and I like the stand! I think he looks a bit younger than the real Juila, but nice figure!

    1. It's great, isn't it? I'm always happy when figures come with even plain stands, but these ones are really outstanding (heh, no pun intended).

    1. He's 10", so they're a bit of an awkward size for cross-over photos, since since it makes them too small for the collector-style figures (which tend to be 12", like fashion dolls) and too big for the playline action figures (which tend to be 6-8"). Still, the articulation and sculpting is fabulous, so I can't complain much! :)

  8. He's handsome! I used to be a Star Trek fan, but I must be losing it, because I don't remember him.

    1. He was the doctor from Deep Space Nine, played by Alexander Siddig (random trivia: the show premiered before he changed his name, so he was still Siddig El Fadil in the credits for the first two seasons).

  9. Not to be weird or "country" - even though I am both, lol, he sure has a pretty mouth. They did a good job with his face and the shape of his mouth.
