The Continued Adventures of Isabela in England

After leaving Liverpool, we drove to Manchester (with a quick stop in Northwich, so my husband could pick up a pastry at his childhood favourite bakery).  We had more rain there, which meant fewer toy photos, but Isabela did get to hang out by the water in front of Media City (across from the Imperial War Museum North).

Leaving Manchester, we headed to Stratford-Upon-Avon, where we had much better luck with the sun.

Isabela examines the barges along the Avon.
.
Shakespeare dolls in the Royal Shakespeare Company gift shop.
.
Enjoying a motor boat ride.
And finally we made our way down to London.  Since us humans spent most of our time visiting family, Isabela didn't get to do much site-seeing, but I did spy some new-to-me dolls in the corner of a tourist shop:
In case you wanted a cuddly (vinyl head, but plush-bodied) doll of Aaron Ramsey,Eden Hazard or Diego Costa, one could be yours for a mere ‎£29.95.

And that was the holiday!  Now I just need to decide which doll or figure should come along on the next trip (probably Louisiana in December) - anyone have suggestions?

  1. Your husband must have been happy to taste pastry from his favourite bakery again :-). The footballers are a bit expensive for plush bodied dolls, but a lot of fans will want one I guess :-).

    1. Yes, I was tempted to pick one of them up for my nephew, but not at that price! Maybe if I ever see them at half price...

  2. There is something about that pastry or cake from a childhood bakery...every time I go to visit my parents in NZ I get something from the Sunday morning bakery and it just tastes exactly like I remembered.

Looks like you had a good, albeit busy trip and Isabela enjoyed herself.

    1. There's something special about food-nostalgia, isn't there? Although the teenage girl who served us seemed a little baffled by it - "I wouldn't come from Texas for an iced bun!" LOL. ;)

  3. Great photos! It's so nice you were able to find some sunshine on your trip. I'm sure Isabela was probably irritated to have to leave the water and go back to Texas. :)

    1. Thanks! :)

And as for Isabela, I think she probably was mostly annoyed that she didn't get to bring any of the boats back with her. ;)
