Body Comparison: Soom ID51 vs. Souldoll Vito

Soom ID51 London, Souldoll Vito Rouse
One of the most common photo requests I've gotten on doll boards is regarding the in-between (at 52cm, bigger than MSD, smaller than SD) sized Vito from Souldoll and Idealian 51 from Soom.  I have one of each  - Soom ID51 London and Souldoll Vito Rouse, so let's take a look at them side-by-side.

A note to the sensitive, unclothed dolls below the cut (although they're posed for modesty, since I originally took these to share on a board where that's a requirement for anatomically correct dolls).

Left: Souldoll
Right: Soom

Overall, these two are quite similar in size, although there are three major differences: The Soom doll has a smaller head circumference, the Souldoll has slightly narrower shoulders and stands 52cm to the Idealian's 51cm.

Still, the two can share most of each other's clothing (although the broader shoulders on the ID51 body means that fitted sleeves on a Vito outfit won't work).

And that's it, thanks for looking!

  1. They look great together. I already was familiar with the Vito body, but I like the Soom body very much too, it's very good proportioned!

    1. You had a Vito Lester for a while didn't you?

I like the subtle differences in these two bodies, you can imagine them being guys who happen to play slightly different sports. ;)

    2. Yes, I did, now I want a 65 à 70 cm guy, especially because shoes are easier to find for this size. Indeed both dolls could be different sports players :-).

  2. I don't have any 'grown up' dolls these days but these lads are very nicely sculpted.

  3. This is a great comparison!! May I ask which wig size does each of them use?

    1. They usually both wear 7/8 wigs, but London's slightly smaller head means that he fits some of the stretchier 6/7 wigs as well.

  4. Nice hunks you have there JS, wish hubby was more that shape! LOL! Do you have many guy dolls in your colection? I don't seem to have any hunks, though I do have a few young boys.

    1. LOL!

I do have a lot of guy dolls - it's funny, because when I started out, I'd planned to have equal number of male and female dolls, but these days the guys outnumber the girls 4:1!

  5. I totally giggled at Xanadu's comment above, lol. Great comparison photos. I especially love the one of London in the Vito outfit. They look like soooo much fun to pose and photograph. :)

    1. Thanks! :)

They really are fun to pose - the posing alone is what got me into BJDs, I think.

  7. These are very attractive guys. Do they have female counterparts? I'm not really familiar with BJDs. The names are familiar, but I have no idea about what dolls are which sizes.

    1. There actually aren't many female dolls in this range - Dollmore's Zaoll is one of the only ones. That said, these two are pretty much the only male dolls at this size, so it's more just a general odd size (they're in between the more standard MSD/45cm and SD 60cm).

  8. Interesting how there are more male dolls in this range. Pretty cool, I think.

Thanks for sharing, jSarie. Always enjoy your photo comparisons ;-)

Actually, just this past week I read that Souldoll is actually planning a Vito-range girl doll, so it looks like that gap is closing a bit now.
