The Rainy Season Blues

I've snagged a couple of new pieces lately, including a clearance articulated Barbie and a surprisingly low-priced Eaglemoss Hellblazer figurine, but the weather is not cooperating and giving me the sunshine that I'd like to have for detailed review photos.  So while we wait, how about a few photos of American Girl dolls (Cécile and Truly Me #44) on an overcast day?

  1. Weather is a problem here too and I can't wait for springtime!!

I love the sporty outfit in your american girl doll, such a neat idea! hope they sold some sport outfits for bjds too haha :D!!

They don't sell american girl dolls here so it's always nice to see them online ~

    1. Thanks!

It's funny you mentioned sports outfits for BJDs - I was just looking at the Volks store and thinking about buying one of their track suits! ;)

  2. The weather isn't a problem here but lack of time has been. These are lovely photos though and being overcast the colours of theirvoutfits really 'pop' don't they! Both girls look good but I particularly like the tan girl, her face sculpt is my favourite of the American Girl dolls. If only their bodies were all vinyl or had a vinyl chest plate I would have one!

On the plus side, at least when the bodies aren't your style it saves you from "needing" (*cough*) to collect them! ;)

Hope the weather is more accommodating in your area soon for photos.

It looks like we're going to have a couple of rain free days now, so I'd better get out the camera while it lasts! :)

  6. They still look happy to be outside, even if it is cloudy. We have lots of sunshine here, but it is also getting hot and humid. It would definitely be too warm for those long sleeves!

Since you're interested in "nostalgia" toys, I thought you might like to know that Mattel is producing a She-Ra Barbie exclusive doll for San Diego Comic Con. :)

    1. Thanks for the heads-up on that She-Ra barbie - I just googled and she looks great! We'll have to see how easily available she is after SDCC...

  7. I think the photos look great! I always prefer overcast days as they you don't have to worry about shadows! The girls look great. It's always fun to see the other dolls you collect. I was curious how display/store everything? Do you have a room or section of your house that you display or do you keep things in containers? I'm a bit of both..trying to organize. For us, it's finally warm so I don't even want to be inside! :)

    1. I'm a bit of both too - a lot of my larger dolls are in their boxes in a closet, and I rotate the displays (have have several shelves in my nerd cave/home office, and some of the biggest dolls are on display on a dresser in my guest room).

    2. That is a great idea to rotate the displays...thanks! :)
