Out of the Box: American Girl Mini Melody

I have to apologize for not being online very much this month. I've been doing quite a bit of travelling for family obligations and that's been eating up most of my free time. Still, I wanted to pop on to share the mini version of American Girl's newest historical doll, Melody (and thanks to Debbie Behan Garrett of Black Doll Collecting for the tip on finding her at steep discount!).
Melody, the newest American Girl character doll.

Since I've reviewed the AG minis in the past, I won't do a full review, so it's all photos from here!

In the box.

Lifting the lid.

Front view.

Rear view.

Stretching her joints to go for a walk.

A parting glance.
And that's it! I hope you're all having a good September so far! I'm going to be in Toronto later this month, so there should be another retro-themed set of posts coming up in a few weeks.

  1. I have just bought her as well! My Melody is still sitting in her box though at this stage, waiting to be released!

    1. They really did, didn't they?

Have you seen the accessories for the full size doll? They really put some great details into those! :)

  3. I got her too, thanks to Debbie's post. I never would've expected to find her at Walmart.com and at $10 no less. Mine is still in her box, safe from little hands until I can (EVER) find time to do a review or take doll photos. :) I think she's really cute.

    1. She really is!

I grabbed the books from there as well - I wouldn't have thought to look for them at Walmart either, so it was a great tip, wasn't it?

  4. It's nice to see mini Melody out of the box and to see her hair from the back. I'm glad you and the others who read my post were able to take advantage of that fabulous price Walmart.com offered her for initially. She had sold out there, but more quantities are in stock, unfortunately at a higher price of $16.99. Amazon had her for $10.09, but "had" is the key word. Their price is now $18 and change.

  5. Hello JS,
She is a lovely doll and I like her dress very much. I hope things slow down for you a little so you can enjoy more free time.

  7. Hi JS!
She's a cutie and she has little white TEEF!!! You know I am a sucker for dolls with teeth, so she automatically appeals to me.
    Hugs,

    1. Heh, that's the nice thing about the AGs - only one of their dolls doesn't have teeth! :)

  11. What a little cutie! Does she have a full vinyl body or part cloth?

    1. Thanks! She has the full vinyl body - the don't make the minis with the cloth torsos anymore. I think clothes hang on them better this way, although of course it means they're not perfect replicas of the big dolls now.
