Still, I did get manage to get a few pictures snapped, so I thought I'd share them (even if a few of them do have a bit of a natural filter to them!).
SD13 Irvin (I'd just wiped off the lens) |
30 seconds later, it was fogged up again... |
SDC Miko, sitting in a tree. He needs a haircut, doesn't he? |
SD13 Heath, looking off in the distance (probably at the rainclouds). |
SDGou Claude the Beast - if you look carefully you'll see my dog photobombing in the back. |
Claude up close |
…And the fog is back! Time to run inside before the rain starts! |
I remember something similar happening in Florida.....the humidity is a killer, isn't it. Despite that though, you managed to get some great photos of your Volks family.....Irvin and Claude are my favourites I think, and I think I had Miko but as an MSD though, first as a girl then as a boy!

I can imagine Miko being a good head for a girl (I think mine is definitely happy as a body though ;)).
DeleteThe humidity really is a killer - just something I'll have to get used to though!
Lovely pictures even with the "nature" effects. Love Irvin's red hair.

Thanks! I'm glad you like Irvin's hair - I was so thrilled when I found a wig in that colour! :)
DeleteClaude is stunning. LOL @the dog - pets - would do that.
ReplyDeleteThe fog would give Claude an eerie, time-walking look; Irvin looks fully 21st century though. Glad you got those shots before the rain fell!
Heh, yup - I can imagine my dog thinking "What? I'm not doing anything!" ;)
DeleteI was half-joking about running from the rain when I first posted this, but within an hour we had an official flood warning, so I wasn't wrong! LOL.
Hi JS!
ReplyDeleteFog or not, it's a lovely photo shoot and I just love the close up of Claude...he's gorgeous! Please do a more in depth review on him sometime, I'd love to know more about him.
Hugs,
X
Thanks!
DeleteI've been meaning to give a thorough review of Claude since he arrived - the SDGou body is a nice improvement over some of the older Volks bodies (at least I think so). I assumed I'd be changing him into more casual clothes, but so far I've been enjoying him in his default gear. But I'm sure I'll finally stick him in a track suit like I do with all the fancy dolls, so I'm sure it'll happen soon! :)
The pictures are great, I like the "foggy" one too actually. The dolls all are styled beautifully, the wigs with the braids are very cool. And Claude is stunning as always of course :-)!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat's the positive spin - I've learned how to get a natural fog effect! ;)
These dolls have such nice, deep expressive faces..an amazing hair. :) I can't believe your lens was fogging up like that so much! I don't think I've ever experienced humidity like that...hopefully it cooled down a bit after the rain. How tall are these dolls? From the photos, Claude looks really tall! ...cute dog as well, my grandparents always owned that breed when we were growing up. :)
ReplyDeleteMy dog thanks you for the compliment! *tail wag* ;)
DeleteIt cooled down for a few hours, but we're back up to 89% humidity again this morning. At least the temperature is a little lower now though, so that's something.
Claude is fairly tall: 66cm/2ft 2in. He's not my tallest doll (a have a couple who are +70cm), but he's up there.
Claude is quite mesmerizing and I dig his fancy outfit. I live in Florida and I love the moist heat. It's rare that my camera will fog over but that's probably because I never use AC in my place so when I venture outside there's no drastic temperature change.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the no-AC probably helps - is Florida less humid that Southern Texas? Or maybe I'm just a Canadian wimp in the south? LOL.
DeleteIf you are San Antonio-ish then Florida is more humid. If you are near Laredo or Corpus it might feel about the same. I'd hazard that Florida still has more of a moist heat whereas parts of Texas will give you a dry heat. Texas is more spread out and Florida is all squished and has more surface water closer together.
DeleteI stayed in Winnipeg for a little bit one August and I felt dry and crunchy the whole time. I'll take soothing moisture any day. NO OFFENSE TO CANADA! Hail the maple leaf.
I'm in Houston, so I think more humid than San Antonio, at least. I had to look on a map to see where that is - I'm still learning my local geography, LOL. ;)
DeleteI've never been to Winnipeg (or anywhere in Manitoba, actually), but Calgary was dry like that - not great in the summer, but it made the really cold winters feel less cold. I've always said that -30 in Calgary feels not much different than 0 anywhere with moisture!
Beautiful and unusual dolls and great photos,jSarie!!! I'm looking at your last photo where you say the fog has affected the shot. That explains why some of my photos look the way they do recently. It has rained almost every day since I returned from Europe. I thought my camera lens was dirty. Didn't realize it was the humidity.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteIt's funny what a little condensation does to photos, but I'll be that's exactly what's going on with you as well.
Irvin's hair is nice! I love the color. Beautiful dolls!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
