New Arrival: Volks Yo-SD Tinatsu/Chinatsu v. 2

I was browsing Mandarake (the Japanese second-hand chain) looking at doll outfits the a few weeks ago when I came across a listing for a YoSD Tinatsu (also called Chinatsu, but I'll be using the former since it's what appears on her paperwork). While I debated buying her, she sold.  But a few short days later another Tinatsu was listed, this one at 3000¥ less because her eyes had been swapped and were no longer the default brown.  Since I can't resist a good deal, I decided to add her to my cart.

Unlike some of their larger dolls, there are no standard dolls in the Yo-SD size (26.5cm), so all of the releases have been limited run for the various Dolpas ("doll parties") and other events.

She arrived in her original box which while dented
was still otherwise intact.
There were two versions of Tinatsu released, the first in 2006 at two August Dolpas, and the second in 2007 at Dolpa 18. The doll I picked up is from the second release.
In the box. A clear view of the YoSD girl body and
its 14 points of articulation.
I'm planning to take more detailed photos of this doll once I've customized her, but in the meantime I thought I'd share her with you as she is now.
Her original paperwork and wig.
The outfit shown in the photos was not included with
the original release.

It may be a while before I fully customize her, but I didn't want to wait to share her.

Thanks for looking!

  1. I'm glad that we got to see her now. She's cute just the way she is, but I bet she'll look even better once she's customized. It's funny that you bring up buying something on Mandarake, because I made my first purchase there a couple of days ago; I bought a pair of Momoko pumps for my J-dolls. They happened to still be in the bag, but I think I paid a good price for them. People are asking over $100 dollars for the few Momoko shoes on eBay!

  2. Congratulations on the new arrival! It's always great to see the box opening photos! The bodies are nicely sculpted. I think they are heavy too from memory. A friend of mine used to have a Yo-SD Volks Williams. She ended up putting the head on an MSD body as it was huge for the Yo-SD body. I will look forward to see what you end up doing with her.

  3. She's quite the little cutie despite the bright blue eyes. Congratulations on bringing her home JS, it's always a bonus when you get a good deal. She has a substantial body, which I like on YOSD's as they are after all supposed to be children. I shall look forward to seeing how you customise her. :)
