Shelf Expression (aka Adventures in Display and Storage)

http://coolandcollected.com/this-weeks-assignment-from-the-league-shelf-expression-2/
I've been following League of Extraordinary Bloggers (a weekly themed blog challenge from Cool & Collected) for a while now, but this week's photo assignment inspired me to join in the fun and share some of my display/storage shelves (at the point of writing, I found another example of the assignment at Nerdy Life of Mine).

Since my display shelves get to change every move, I thought I'd share some of my shelves from the past as well.

Calgary, 2006: the basement nerd cave.
The figure shelf, 2006.
Southern Ontario, 2010: The doll & figure stage

Northern Virginia, 2014: the shelving corridor
It's poorly lit, but hey.

  2. Is it sad that the first thought I had was "oh, I spy a Nightcrawler...."

    Anyway, very nice!

    1. Ha! I'm totally guilty of looking for my own favourites in other people's group shots, so I'm saying "not sad at all!" ;)

  3. Took me a while to find the Nightcrawler. My favorite X-Man character, tied with Gambit. That Creole drawl gets me. Also, do I see the karaoke-singing demon from Angel?

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like your own doll display. Looks like you have room for a few more on those shelves. :)

    1. Heh, yup, there's just enough room left to rationalize some new purchases, I think! :)

And good eye! That is Lorne the singing demon from Angel! I even have his karaoke stand somewhere (probably in storage, but I bet I have photos of it somewhere...).

    2. We have things in common! Gambit is my favorite as well, followed by Kurt. :)

  7. I think I see Mulder/Scully and perhaps Angel and Lorne Greene. Do I?? That corridor is awesome.

    1. Oh, yes! I think that is Angel, Lorne Greene, and Wesley in the third photo.

I love snooping to see who has whom. Nosey me ;-)

    2. Yes, you got them right! That's the X-files crew on one side and the Angel crew on the other. :)

  8. Ooohhh! I see Kurt, too! Yay, Kurt. I loved him in the graphic novel _God Loves, Man Kills_ and the X-Men stories of that time. (Also loved Storm and Kitty Pryde.)

I like how that gray-haired bjd has a smaller brown-skinned fashion doll on his lap - is/was she his "dummy?"

Thanks so much, too, for introducing the League of Extraordinary Bloggers to your readers. I'm like - comic book fans AND doll/action figure collectors wrapped up together? Awesome!

    1. "comic book fans AND doll/action figure collectors wrapped up together? Awesome!" - That's what I thought! :)

The smaller doll does look like the "dummy" for the BJD, doesn't she? I'd actually meant for her to be a "fairy on the shoulder"-type, but I like your idea even more! :)

    1. Thanks!

And good eye - People usually mistake Jeremy for a blue meanie! :)
